Last words or final words are a person’s final articulated words, stated prior to death or as death approaches.
Nearly everyone wants to be remembered when they die, and what better way to assure that than to have the perfect last words?
One of the most amazing things to do is to read what people said right before they died-the last statement they made with their last breath.
You can learn a great deal about what was important to these people by reading what they said. And it might give you some insight into what may have lain in store for them after they took that last breath. You can know someone’s destiny after their last words.
When Paul says, “I have finished my course “[2Timonthy 4:7].The question to us, the children of God is, what have we started? What is our purpose on earth. Jesus at the age of thirty three said he had finished [John 19:30].
At the end of our earthly life, will we also be in position to say “I have run my race and i have finished my course? Or are you simply going through life?
Yes,you were born. You learned to walk and talk. You went to kindergarten and then elementary school. You learned to play sports. You went to junior and high school. You went to university. You were overly concerned about your grade point average. You got a job. You got your driver’s license. You went to concert and also cheered your favorite sports team .You got married. You had kids and grand kids. You then retired………Now what! That is the kind of life that most people live.I believe there is more to life than that.I believe life is too short to be wasted.
We have to understand that what we are doing on earth counts;it is these labours that define our crown and reward.
When a man labours well, His Lord says unto him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant “[Matthew 25:21a]
Every man is called to be a worker of the kingdom because the Bible says, “Every man’s work shall be made manifest:for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire. And if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:but he shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
This simply means that some people will get to heaven, but their works will not stand the test of eternal fire. This really shows that Eternal life starts on the earth. More importantly, life doesn’t end when you die. That is why it is important to invest in eternity.
My spiritual father says,”At the end of our lives, our stories should not be about how many people knew us in the world or how many cameras watched us. Rather, that we walked worthy of the call of God upon our lives. That it was neither about the nations we walked into nor the men of God we met but the fact that God worked in us to contribute our part. The End Of Men-Apostle Grace Lubega
Here are some last words ,statements spoken by famous people before their death.Their a pearl of wisdom.
Anne Boleyn (wife of Henry the Eighth, who had her executed): “Oh God, have pity on my soul. O God,have pity on my soul. “
Andrew Jackson:“My dear children, do not grieve for me…. I am my God’s.I belong to Him. I go but a short time before you, and… i hope and trust to meet you in heaven.
Charles Dickens:”I commit my soul to the mercy of God, through our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, and i exhort my dear children humbly to try and guide themselves by the teaching of the New Testament.
Jonathan Edwards:(Evangelist) “Trust in God and you shall have nothing to fear. “
D. L Moody(Evangelist) :”I see earth receding; heaven is opening. God is calling me.
William Shakespeare:I commend my soul into the hands of God my creator, hoping and assuredly believing, through the only merits of Jesus Christ my Savior, to be made partaker of life everlasting;and my body to the earth, whereof it was made.”
Daniel Webster:”I still live. “As he was dying, he said,”The great mystery is Jesus Christ, the Gospel. What would the condition of any of us be if we had not the hope of immortality?…. Thank God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ brought life and immortality to light. “
Henry Ward Beecher:“Now comes the mystery.”Beecher, a man with a great mind, did not know the answer to the mystery beyond death. Beecher may not have known, but, after reading this post, you do. The question is:What have you you done with what you know?
When John Owen, the great Puritan, lay on his deathbed, he had his secretary write to a friend, “I am still in the land of the living. “Then, Owen Cried, “Stop! Change that to say, ‘I am yet in the land of the dying, but i hope soon to be in the land of the living.’
Time is progressing, but eventually comes to a standstill for each one of us in this physical realm.Your last breath could be today. If so, what would your last words be?
What if you had more time in your life? What if you could live life differently than you have. What if you could write down what you hope your last words will be before you die? What if you could live a life that would actually reflect those words. What would those words be.
Please remember, while you are still breathing, that God loves you up to your last breath and words.
