Foot Prints Of The Word In History-Part One!

What is the Bible?

It’s a compilation of 66 Books written by more than 40 writers over a period of 1600 years. The unity, harmony, and accuracy of the Bible can’t be compared with that of any other book.

The Bible is, by its very existence, evidence of a Divine Hand writing through devoted men.

If you have a favorite holly book other than the Bible, you may want to argue that. Let me explain to you why the Bible is unique.

The Bible is the best-selling book of all time. From it’s on set printing, it has been the top selling book! Many Books have sold thousands, some have sold millions, some have even sold thousands, some have sold millions, some have even passed the ten million mark.

By comparison, Bible sales are about 150 millions per year, with approximately four billion Bibles in print, in over 2,000 languages. No other book even comes close.

There is something about it that draws people all over the world to read it.In his book, The Power Of the Ages To Come,Prophet Elvis Mbonyi says, “The Bible is meant to awaken our consciousness ‘Godwarldy’,so as to speak. We become what we contemplate. And, the Bible was given to this end, that we might be altered into that which we envisage in it”.

But Because it is the best selling book in history, shouldn’t you take a look at it? You wouldn’t want to be one of those who feel to critique or claim to “know” the Bible without actually having read it.

The Bible claims to be written by God. All other religions texts were written by men who claimed to be speaking for God. Men wrote the Bhagavad Gita; men who knew Mohammed, or knew of him, wrote the Koran long after his death; a man wrote the Book of Mormon, claiming that an angel gave him the translation of ancient golden plates.

Only the Bible claims to have been written by God speaking to men.Over 3000 times the Bible says, “Thus Saith the Lord.” What other book ever written has ever said something like that so many times? In no way, shape, or form that book is claiming human authorship!

From history, archaeology, science, and prophecy -it shows that the Bible is indeed the Word of God. To prove something historically, you have to look at several things. One thing is to consider is the original or the early manuscripts of that document.

In the case of the Bible, today we have over 24,000 copies of portions of the New Testament. The next closes in all of antiquity is Homer’s Iliad, of which we have 643 ancient copies.

The external evidence of the Bible is also amazing. Tacitus, a Roman historian, and Josephus, a Jewish historian, both support the historical accuracy of the Bible. For example, there were seventeen historians who wrote about the death of Jesus by crucifixion.

The Bible accurately describes history down to the smallest details, and history attests to the accuracy of scripture. For example, the rise and fall of great empires like Greece and Rome.

Daniel 2:39-40 KJV And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

The destruction of major cities (for instance, Tyre, Sidon, are described in the Bible.Intensive and prolonged study have shown that the historical accuracy of the Bible is far superior to the written records of Egypt, Assyria, and other early nations.

[Isaiah 23:1] KJV The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.

Nelson Glueck, the renowned Jewish archaeologist, wrote:It may be stated that no archaeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference.

This is amazing:The Bible is historically trustworthy.

Also Millar Burrow states:The Bible is supported by archaeological evidence again and again. On the whole, there can be no question that the results of excavation have increased the respect of scholars for the Bible as a collection of historical documents.

One Bible scholar stated it this way:Consider for a moment the sheer miracle of the Bible. It was written by over 40 writers during the span of more than 60 generations (around 1,600 years)! These writers were from a variety of backgrounds, Kings, Prophets, Priests, Fishermen, herdsmen, Poets, Soldiers among others.

The writers wrote on the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe in the languages of Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. How is it possible that the Bible could have been written in the most complex and counterproductive way, and yet manage to fit together accurately?

Fulfilled prophecy supports the Bible. More than 2,000 detailed prophecies are contained in the Old Testament alone. The prophecies that tell about the End Time Return Of Jesus, including those about political, religious, intellectual and geographical events have been fulfilled down to the smallest detail.

God’s word recorded in the Bible, has been shown to be true.Saying there is no God makes no sense.Saying that the Bible was written by error-prone men doesn’t invalidate the statement that the Bible’s Words are from God.

When you see a beautiful painting, do you think the painter painted it? Or do you think the brush painted it? Of course, we know that the painter painted it, but we also know that the painter used the brush. In the same way, you can see that God is claiming authorship of the Bible, but He used mankind to put it down on parchment and to preserve it through time. Surely God preserved and still preserves His Word.We just need to look at the evidence to see that this is true.
